The short version

Your files and the text you type into our tools are processed inside your browser and are never uploaded, stored, or seen by us. This is how the tools are built, not just a promise: our file tools have no upload endpoint at all. The one exception is the website lookup tools (DNS, WHOIS and SSL), which have to send the domain name you enter to our server to look it up — see below. We use Google Analytics without cookies to count page views, and we don't show ads.

What we don't collect

Hosting

Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data needed to serve pages — such as IP addresses and request logs — for security and performance.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to count page views and see which tools and pages are used, so we know what to improve. It runs in Google's consent mode with analytics and advertising storage set to "denied", and the site has no way to change that setting. In that state Google Analytics does not read or write cookies or other identifiers on your device. Instead it sends Google cookieless measurements with the address of the page you're viewing and, according to Google, the time, your browser's user agent, the referring page, the consent state, whether you arrived from an ad click, and a random number generated for each page load. Both addresses are sent without the part after the "?" — which is where our calculators keep the numbers you enter, so you can bookmark or share a result.

Google receives your IP address with each request, as any website you load content from does. Google says that for visitors in the EU, Switzerland and the UK it uses the IP address only to estimate your approximate location and then discards it. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We never send Google Analytics your files, their names, or what you type into our tools.

Website lookup tools

The DNS lookup, WHOIS lookup and SSL checker send the domain name you enter to our server code (which runs on Cloudflare), because a browser can't make these lookups itself. Our server then asks, respectively, Cloudflare's public DNS resolver (cloudflare-dns.com), rdap.org (which forwards the question to the registry for that domain), or crt.sh (the public Certificate Transparency logs). Our code doesn't store the domains you look up. The "What Is My IP Address" tool shows the IP address your request came from, as your connection reports it to Cloudflare; it isn't stored either.

Advertising

We don't show ads, and no advertising scripts load on our pages. If we start showing ads to keep the tools free, we will update this policy first, and where required you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies or identifiers are used.

Local storage

We use your browser's local storage for interface preferences only (for example, your light/dark theme choice). This never contains file contents or personal data and stays on your device.

External links

Some pages link to official sources (for example, government or regulator websites). Those sites have their own privacy policies.
