Convert kilometers to miles — and back — with the exact factor (1 km = 0.62137119 mi, the reciprocal of the defined 1.609344). Loads with km → mi preselected: for race names, pace math, and metric odometers read in miles. (Planning in miles first? The miles to km converter starts reversed and has the Fibonacci trick.)
The formula
miles = km × 0.62137119 · km = miles × 1.609344. The reverse factor is exact; the forward one is its unending reciprocal — the converter shows both directions’ multipliers.

Races, pace, range
Running owns this direction: the 5K/10K names are kilometers, and the FAQ converts the pace-per-km numbers your watch shows into min/mile. Driving: metric odometers, EV range figures, and toll distances read in miles via the 60%-and-a-bit rule; fuel economy needs the inverted formula in the FAQ (mpg and L/100 km move in opposite directions). Speeds are their own pages — km/h to mph for reading foreign limits, mph to km/h for US roads.
Private by design
Runs on your device as you type — no server, no logging. The unit converter adds nautical miles for the boat.
