Need every page of a PDF as its own file? Drop your document above and this free splitter turns each page into a separate PDF — packaged into one ZIP for a single download. It runs entirely in your browser: no signup, no watermarks, and your document is never uploaded.
How to split a PDF
- Add your PDF — drag it into the box or click Browse files.
- Click “Split into separate pages” — each page is copied into its own PDF on your device.
- Download the ZIP — inside you’ll find page-1.pdf, page-2.pdf, and so on, in order.
When splitting one-per-page helps
Splitting is the fastest way to turn a bundle into building blocks: pulling individual invoices out of a scanned batch, filing each signed form separately in a records system, sending someone just their page from a combined report, or preparing single-page uploads for portals that only accept one page at a time. Once split, you can recombine any subset with the Merge PDF tool — split and merge together cover most day-to-day PDF reshuffling.
Split vs extract vs delete — which do you need?
These three sound similar but solve different jobs. Split (this tool) gives you every page as its own file. Extract PDF pages pulls selected pages into one new document — right when you need “just pages 2–4”. And Delete PDF pages removes the pages you name and keeps the rest. Picking the right one saves a round trip.
Limits and tips
- Size: up to 100 MB per file; big documents split fine because nothing is uploaded.
- Naming: files are zero-padded (page-01, page-02 …) when there are ten or more pages, so they sort correctly in any file manager.
- Quality: pages are copied, not re-rendered — output is byte-faithful to each page.
- Encrypted PDFs: password-protected files can’t be read; remove the password first.
Private by design
The splitter is client-side JavaScript — your document is opened, split, and zipped on your own device. Nothing is transmitted, stored, or seen by anyone. Close the tab and it’s gone.
