Crop a PDF

Draw a crop box on your PDF and trim every page to it — cut margins or isolate a region, visually, right in your browser.

Draw the crop area on page 1 — it applies to every page

Files never leave your browser — all processing happens on your device.

Drag a box over the page preview and every page is trimmed to exactly that area — cut oversized white margins, isolate a table or chart, or clean up scanner borders, with numeric controls for precision and one-click margin presets. Free, and the file never leaves your browser.

How to crop a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF — the first page renders large, with a draggable crop box over it.
  2. Drag the box (or its corner handles), type exact percentages, or use the Trim 5% / 10% presets to shave margins evenly.
  3. Click Crop PDF and download. The same area is cropped on every page.

What people crop, in practice

Scanned documents with heavy black or gray borders from the scanner bed. Journal papers whose huge margins waste half of a tablet or e-reader screen — trimming margins makes the text dramatically larger at the same zoom. Slides exported with letterboxing. A single chart or table that needs to become its own document (crop to it, and pair with the extract tool to pull just that page). Print layouts where the printable area needs tightening.

Percent-based, rotation-aware

The crop is stored as a percentage of the visible page, not fixed coordinates — so a document that mixes Letter and A4 pages, or portrait and landscape scans, crops consistently: the same relative region on every page. Pages stored with rotation flags (very common in scanned PDFs) are handled automatically; the box you draw on the preview is exactly what you get, regardless of how the page is stored internally.

The honest limitation: cropping is not redaction

Cropping rewrites each page’s display boundaries (CropBox and MediaBox). Viewers and printers show only the cropped area — but the content outside it still exists inside the file. Anyone with a PDF editor could enlarge the page boxes and see it again. If you are removing a name, an address, or anything sensitive, cropping is the wrong tool; true redaction removes the content itself. For everything cosmetic — margins, borders, layout — cropping is exactly right.

To change the paper size rather than the visible area, use the resize pages tool; to drop whole pages, the delete tool.

Private by design

The preview rendering and the crop itself run entirely in your browser — no upload, no server copy, no trace after the tab closes. Contracts and scans stay yours.

Frequently asked questions

Does cropping delete the content outside the box?
No — cropping changes which part of each page is displayed and printed, but the underlying content remains in the file and could be restored by editing the page boxes. To permanently remove sensitive content, use a proper redaction tool, not a crop.
Can I crop just one page instead of all of them?
This tool applies the same crop to every page, which is what margin-trimming needs. To crop a subset, extract those pages first with the extract tool, crop them here, and merge the pieces back together.
How does it handle pages of different sizes?
The crop area is applied proportionally — as percentages of each page. A crop covering the middle 80% of page 1 covers the middle 80% of every page, so mixed-size documents stay consistent.
What about rotated pages?
The crop is applied to pages exactly as you see them. If a page is stored rotated (common with scans), the tool maps your crop box into the page's real coordinate space automatically.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Rendering the preview and rewriting the page boxes both happen in your browser — the file never leaves your device.
